Alex Valertoni is an immigration attorney with degrees from Yale (B.A. in Political Science 1993) and UC Berkeley-Boalt Hall (J.D. 1997). His immigration practice includes all temporary visas, labor certification, permanent residence applications based on employment or family, student/scholar issues, naturalization, waivers, adoption, I-9 compliance issues and government audits. His practice additionally includes setting up new business entities (primarily for intracompany transferee and investor visa clients), contract drafting and analysis, and ongoing regulatory compliance counseling.
Prior to launching his current practice, Fabio was a partner for three years at the business immigration firm Nagano & Valertoni LLP. His previous legal experience also includes positions at: PGuardian Technologies, Inc. in Berkeley as in-house legal counsel; Stroock in New York as an associate representing financial services companies; and McCarter & English in New York and New Jersey, as an associate working on corporate, securities, food & beverage, environmental, international trade, non-profit, and political asylum issues. Fabio also worked as an international program associate at Environmental Defense Fund in Washington, D.C.
Fabio is admitted in New York and New Jersey, and may practice immigration law nationwide under federal law. He may also provide corporate law counseling and services consistent with the rules of each applicable state jurisdiction. Fabio is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the French American Chamber of Commerce of San Jose (FACCSF), and Co-op America. In law school, he was an editor of the Ecology Law Quarterly and a member of the International Law Society. He was raised in the U.S., but traveled extensively to visit family in Latin America, francophone Europe and Canada. Fabio is fluent in French, Spanish, and English.
